Common Core In Español & A Freebie

So... summer is slowly sliding, slipping away (darn, I couldn't think of another S word to finish).
I finally finished translating the Common Core Standards for Kindergarten in Spanish,  WHEW!

Since I'm more familiar with Kindergarten Standards, I completed these first and will finish up First Grade, hopefully before summer ends...summer ending?....sigh....

Anyways.... who doesn't love Deanna Jump?
She was so sweet and okayed for me to use her CCSS format.  They were a true labor of love, I'm tellin' ya.  I included 4 colorful theme/title sets for The Common Core Reading, Language Arts, Writing, and Math.  I also included "I can" (Yo puedo) and the "We can" (Podemos) statements, which I thought would be perfect if you recite your daily objectives orally with your class.

And because it's my dear mama's birthday (Feliz Cumpleaños Mom), you can find them on sale  if you click below:

I know how difficult it is sometimes to find anything in Spanish, so below you'll find a checklist for the Kindergarten Common Core Standards in Spanish.
I work a lil' backwards and made the cover page last, which I love, so I'll try to cute-ify the checklist later.  Just click on the pic to grab your free copy :)

Drop me a note/comment, question, anything if you snags ya a copy :)

Batman and Monkeys?

I love BATMAN!
Probably one of the main reasons I'm so willing to do a superhero theme this year :)

I had a great weekend with the familia, why?  We went to IMAX and saw
The Dark Knight Rises
AWESOME!

And what about monkeys?
I just uploaded a number review and matching set with this adorable monkey.

Hope you can use :)

Sorry For The Confusion

I've really tried to follow all the licensing policies out there regarding clipart.
I thought I was, but I guess I was a little mistaken.

So where I previously had some freebies on TPT
I found out that the licensing I purchased requires me to charge.
So I tried to keep the pricing low.
I'm sorry for the confusion.

Cute-ify Your Desktop

Hola bloggers!  I swear I get super motivated one day and the next several days I just love veggin' out (that sounds like something my son would make fun of me for, what's veggin' out mama?)

Anyways, my husband showed me this cute (I mean cool) way to label, decorate, umm I.D. (?) my files.
So MAC users if you want your desktop files to go from this:

to cute-ifying them like this:
then just keep reading.

1.  Open your clipart file (it's better if you use png clipart, so that the background doesn't show)

 2.  Double click the clipart  you want, it should open in Preview

3.  Hi-light image and Copy >Command C
then exit out of preview

4.  find the folder you want to cute-ify
5.  Right click on the folder and click >Get Info

6.  This window will pop up
notice the Images Folder is not hi-lighted (hi lit?)

7.  Click on the Images Folder, it will slightly hi-light

8.  Press paste > Command V
Exit out of Images Info

9.  Ta Da!  You have officially cute-ified your desktop :)
Whew!  It only took 9 steps :)
Let me know what if this worked for you, this is my first tutorial, (I feel so techy, shh don't tell my kids).
I would love to hear from ya :)

Daily 5 Freebie

I don't mean to be downer, but I'm definitely feeling blue...

I was originally writing:
I've been resting, relaxin' and spending time with my kiddos,
but now I'm just in bummer state...

We got a new fridge last week, which minus the cost was wonderful.
But this morning we noticed the water connection at the base was leaking terribly.

UPDATE:  My hubby fixed the leak, so good so far.
I pray it's all good.
Still can't completely exhale though, but I'm better (still keeping my fingers crossed).

Ok, so onto the freebie.
I know there are a bunch of cute posters out there, but I thought I would make some to go along with the checklist I posted earlier.

They're free and come in English or Spanish :)
(very, very cheap, I was confused about the freebie policy on TPT for Scrappindoodle clipart)
I apologize for the confusion :(

Yahoo for Bloggy Awards :)

I really have to smile, I cannot believe how nice it is to get awards!  Now I know how my kiddos feel :)
Thank You Tammy over at 1...2..3...Teach With Me,  Jessica at Glitzy in 1st Grade and Chelsey at The Wild West for the Versatile Award:)

The rules for The VERSATILE AWARD are as follows:
1.  Thank the blogger who nominated you - Thank you Tammy, Jessica and Chelsey!!!
2.  Include a link to their site - Check!
3.  Include the award image in your post - Done!
4.  Give 7 random facts about yourself - Just scroll down :)
5.  Nominate 15 other bloggers for the award - Scroll down a little further...
6.  When nominating, include a link to their site - Complete!
7.  Let other bloggers know they've been nominated - and done!

Okey dokey, so for 7 random facts.

Uno:  I'm a mama to 5 really awesome kids!  I know every mama thinks so, but I have absolutely been blessed with my kiddos ages 21 to 4 :)
Dos:  I met my husband in 5th grade, went all through high school together, and were great pals.  But it wasn't until we reconnected almost 8 years ago that we fell in love.  Timing really is everything.
Tres:  I never, ever considered being a teacher.  I thank God USC required students to volunteer because I did just that, at an elementary school, and fell in love with teaching.
Cuatro:  I love chocolate and bread, although not together...hmmm... or maybe...
Cinco:  I love coffee!  Everything goes well with coffee, especially cold pizza :)
Seis:  I am obsessed with planners.  I usually get 2-3 planners in January... and July, weird I know!
Siete:  I'm an old school scrapbooker.  I say old school because it seems everyone is digital these days.  Speaking of old school, when did 80's music become old school? (say WHAAAAT?)
(Yes, I'm that far behind, but hey, I'm a mama, teacher, wife, and part time taxi driver).

I've noticed a lot of my fellow bloggers have already been nominated, but I would like to award these fabulous Bloggy Buddies:
1.  Maria at Kinder-Craze
2.  Shannon at Kindergarten Hoppenings
3.  Nikki at Melonheadz Illustrating
4.  Alicia at Keeping It True at K-1-2
5.  Kathleen at Growing Kinders
6.  Lita at Learning in Spain
7.  Katie at Little Warriors
8.  Tanya at Ms. Solano's Kindergarten Class
9.  Susana at Fun-Key Dual Language for First Grade
10.  And my pal Maggie who found me out! at September Rust

So go check out these ladies, I'm amazed at the creativity :)
