Optimum Organization Linky

I love me some organization!!
Love organization containers!
Love planners, ohhhh planners....
Eh hem, so when I saw that Kristen was hosting an organization linky...Hello! I knew I had to join.

But since it's so close to the end for me
FIVE DAYS LEFT PEOPLE!
My room is anything but organized right now.
I'm trying NOT to shove things everywhere, I'm really trying to store my things with some meaning, and while I wanted to snap some pics of my cupboards, I just couldn't do it.

I do have to say that I do love the way I've organized my binder.
you can check it out here.

Something that's working for me right now is a running list for next year's ideas.
I love to jot things down, what's working in my classroom or how I can improve things for the following year.  So I'm using this:
On the backside I'll draw a quick sketch of my classroom set up.
And ....yes I switched my room again.  Crazy I know, but I always try to rearrange my room at the end of the year, so that way I don't spend too much time figuring it out in the summer (even though my kids insist I'll spend just as much time rearranging).

Anyways....click here or the picture above if you would like a copy :)

This is my list so far :)

Procrastinating, Relaxing Saturday

Hola Bloggy Pals!
Hope you're able to get some time to relax, I know how crazy this time of year is for us teachers.

8 days left and report cards are due Monday.  I brought everything home to finish them, but my head is just not into it yet.

So instead of starting...
I made a yummy chorizo burritos for lunch and enjoyed the series finale of

Took a long nap.
Worked on my end of the year memory book.
Caught up on some blogs.
Started 3 different blog posts, will finish later.
Obviously taking my time to write this post because I'm now realizing it's almost 5pm.
And nope,
still not close to working on what I should be working on.

So I leave you with one of my favorite characters...

Just Keep Swimming

Just keep swimming,
just keep swimming...
This is what I keep saying to myself these days.
I've been so unbelievably busy and to top it all off, I got tonsillitis, can you believe it?

We had our annual Dual Performance this week and it was AWESOME!!
Each student held a flower for the last song and then gave them to their mother's.
Let me just say, there was not a dry eye around :)

The 5th graders performed la danza de los viejitos,
it's fun, hilarious, and never gets old :)
My kiddos performed Will.I.Am's  "I Am" song and the Chicken Dance :)
My kiddos really are so sweet & special :)

And
Happy Mother's Day to all the Super Mamas in Bloggyland!

I've Lost Count

How many days left? I can't do the math.
I couldn't believe I woke up sick again!
I seriously haven't missed this much school, but what can you do...

But I'm finally able to sit up to do some shopping!
How can I not take advantage of the great event at TPT?!

So many teachers have made some really cute banners, but I need to save my strength for shopping.

And to Teachers out in Bloggyland,
Happy Teacher Week!

20 Days But Who's Counting!?!

I can't believe I haven't blogged in so long!
But I know if you're a teacher, you can totally relate to how crazy busy this time of year is!
And the craziness is just starting, aaaaaaaah!!!

Anyways, here are a couple of things we've been working on...

One of our Earth Day activities:
this followed our space unit so well, talk about seeing the Big Picture!
We've also been working a lot on comparing and contrasting.
My kiddos worked in collaborative groups to compare/contrast the characters Cat & Dog from our Tesoros (Treasures) unit last week. Then I paired them up and had them compare/contrast themselves with a partner.

They did a really great job!
I love how they really understood the concept of comparing apples to apples, and point for point.
I loved how they color coded their double bubbles,
(how cute, blue and red make purple :)

Jeri likes to color, Jazmin likes to play outside.
Jeri has a dog, Jazmin-a cat.
Jeri has short hair, Jazmin-long hair.
Jeri likes chocolate ice cream, Jazmin-vanilla.
They're both girls, like mango, pink, insects, and Skippy John Jones (how cute is their spelling in Spanish ;)

But the BEST PART of this activity?
When they presented, Wow!
I was floored as to how well they presented, man I wish I would've recorded them!
They presented point for point and took turns to present what they both liked.

Did I mention this is Jeri's first year in Spanish?
Man I'm proud of my kiddos!

Spring Break No More

Well, that's all folks, my Spring Break is over.
And how did I do on my long list of To Do's?
-Relax...check

-Scrapbook...check
-Watch awesome movies...check, check, check!

Yesterday was a movie marathon for me and I enjoyed one of my all time favorite movies
I never thought I would've married my best pal,
but I did, and the rest as they say,
is history.

How funny that as I was watching this movie I got this picture from my sis with the text, when Jeff met Libby
Yup!  I'm a Trojan and he's all Marvel :)

Well, I'm off to finish planning, hope you enjoy the rest of weekend!

Book Baggies

 Spring Break Finally...YAHOO!!!
Ah-hem, sorry about that, it's been a loooooong year people.

Anyways, getting back to reading.
Let me just say that I follow Amy Lemon's super blog, Step Into 2nd Grade, and she wrote a great blog about Book Buddies.  If you don't know about her, be sure to check her out, she offers many freebies and fabulous ideas.

I bought these cute bags and had such great intentions...
I checked here for my post and realized it was almost a year and half ago (yikes)!

I just couldn't manage it with Kinder, but I finally got a good system going.
I numbered the bags 1-21 and put different titles in each bag.
My kiddos take home a new bag with 5 new titles every Monday and return them on Thursday.
This gives them the opportunity to read 5 different Spanish books at home each week!

I really liked the notice about why I can't skip my 20 minutes of reading, I knew this was something my students and parents could use, so I had to translate this one.   It really drives home the point of being an eh-so-so reader or a Super Reader

I revised the parent letter and permission form for my kiddos, be sure to visit Amy's blog for copies.

My kiddos love receiving new Book Baggies each Monday.
I'm working on a Book Recommendation Form for my kiddos to fill out, hopefully after I get back.
For now I'm loving every moment relaxing, catching up on my cleaning, and time with my lil' cutie pie.

And don't forget to visit Step Into 2nd Grade for more super ideas!
