Rhyme Time

Yahoo for Dr. Seuss!

This week we're celebrating Dr. Seuss with Read Across America.

We'll focus on rhyming words this week.

It's always difficult to find activities in Spanish,

so I put this activity together.

Main Idea: Weather

This week we'll continue our Unit 6 assessment for Treasures.

Next week we'll start a new unit of study.  

For each unit of study, our Kinder Team decided to make a Circle Map power point and have kids try to figure out the Main Idea.

Below you'll see the Circle Map power point that we'll use to introduce Weather.

We start with a blank circle map, then bring up each slide individually.  Finally the center is revealed to show the Main Idea.

I love starting a unit this way.

Students discuss the pictures in their groups and it gives them an opportunity to practice oral language.

We formally began addition last week and I was playing with Power Point,

so true, it's much easier than using Word.

I finished an addition activity with this super cute clipart by Scrappindoodles.

100 Days Smarter!

Today was the hundredth day of school,

and we're definitely 100 days smarter :)

We read my favorite 100th day book

Such a cute story, who could resist so many lil' chicks?

We colored hearts, ice creams, caterpillars, and other fun items totaling 100 of course.

We made beautiful crowns and our 10-10s necklaces.
