And The Countdown Begins

7 days of school left, whaaaaaat?!
Oh my, I cannot even believe it, I'm trying not to think too much about it, but come one who am I kidding?

I was able to put all my student books

and all of my library books away... YAHOO
I filled 4 boxes! I swear I keep giving books away, but I still have so many.
(Ok, ok, so maybe I didn't give any books away this year :)
Don't worry padres, my kiddos still have their Treasures book, so there's still plenty to read :)

And this is the storm before the calm, yeah I know, it's supposed to be the other way around, but seems like the more I put away, the more stuff I have left to put away, wait, what?

This week is going to be crazy busy!

Monday- First Grade Assemblies
Tuesday- Math Training
Wednesday- Class Cards AND report cards due
Thursday- Field Day
Friday- End of the Year Awards Assembly

Whew!  I'm pooped already :)

Sunday Reflections

Can you believe I got sick...again?!
I had 5 kids out Thursday, 2 on Friday, and yesterday afternoon was my turn.  Some awful stomach bug going around.  Thankfully, I'm getting better.

Before I got sick, I spent the morning with a chai tea latte and addressing announcements.  My kids are seniors and graduate on our last day of school.  Ayyy, the realization of my baby girl graduating is slowly hitting me....  Well, actually my cutie pie is my baby girl, but there is a 12 year gap between my girls.  Oh, and no I don't have twins, just happens that my stepson, who lives with us, is also graduating.  Crazy, two seniors, one graduation, one happy mama :)

And yes, it's report card time.
I seriously cannot we only have 8 days of school left!
CRAZY!!!
Still left to do:
-report cards
-class profile cards
-finalize honor roll lists
-award certificates
-pack
-pack
-pack
-And prepare for a Graduation/End of year/Let summer begin PARTAAAAY!!!!!

Good luck teachers out in Bloggyland!
I know how hectic this time of year for us :)

Five For Friday

13 days left, cannot believe it's moving so fast.  I know this time of year is crazy for all of us, but I thought I'd join the Five For Friday Linky fun :)

Uno
practiced our non-standard measurement with partners

dos:
We had our awesome Dual Immersion Spring Event today.  I always get so busy directing my own kiddos that I never have time to take pics of my own class.  But our 5th grade danza de los viejitos is always a hit!

tres:
had to post all our upcoming end of the year events on our calendar, next week we will be busy with our performance tasks, math benchmark testing, Cancer Awareness Week, Luau, and Study Island movie.  Ok, ok, breathe, breathe...

 cuatro:
I need to seriously start planning my kids' graduation party.  Graduation in 13 days, party in 15.  Ok, really, just breathe...

cinco:
Yup, that's me.  I was in urgent care all weekend.  I missed four days of school.  Crazy how we teachers have to time our water intake with our break times, but I've learned a hard lesson, and it will definitely be more water for me.  I am just so thankful that I had a superb sub! And an awesome class, gracias amigos!

Well, that's it for me.  I have some work to do this weekend, but I will absolutely enjoy my Mother's Day Weekend :)
Feliz Día de las Madres

Instagram Love

Sooooooo
being the techy that I am (insert my kids hysterical laughter)
I finally took the plunge into the Instagram world.
I admit, I couldn't understand the hype, but now...
I
understand

I love Pinterest.
I love teacher blogs.
But Instagram has opened up a whole new world.

I thought I was the only planner junkie in the world, but noooo, not even close!   There are people who have some serious planner love, I even found groups devoted to their planners :)

Anyways, I'm finally on Spring Break, YAHOOOOOO!
And I'm sick of course, but that's ok, I'm just thankful for some time off to relax.

I need to get back to posting on my poor little blog.
Because after this week, it's gonna be CrazY!
4 1/2 weeks of school left!

Open House 2014

Open House was last week, but I was so wiped out, I'm just getting around to posting pix.
Here's what you see when you open the door.
To the right of the door is our library area, behind our book boxes.
Love our book boxes, I don't know why I have such a hard time committing to permanent labels.

My guided reading table...ahhh...look at how clean it it :)

This is the wall immediately to the left.  I'm really happy with the way our AR wall turned out.  You can read more HERE.

Ok, these are actually our mini-biographies.  It was supposed to be a timeline, but I thought little books worked out better. Crazy how some of my kiddos look exactly the same as babies :)

And now for our wonder animal projects:

Love the detail and it's homemade :)

Our plant review and buzzing bees.

And lastly, I thought I would give my parents the chance to find as many ways to show 25, I should have taken a pic of the after :/

I have to say, it was a fun evening.  I always love seeing kids with their families.  Our dual classrooms always feel more like family.
